Brian Jensen, clearly unhappy the way he was treated under Brian Laws slapped in a transfer request last month after losing his place to Lee Grant and being unable to get it back.

Jensen appeared to have been made the scapegoat for the 4-0 thrashing by Reading at home back in October. Lee Grant was between the sticks for the next League game away to QPR and has kept his place ever since despite until recently being unable to keep a clean sheet. In a bizarre twist, QPR were involved again but this time at home with the Clarets earning a point against the League leaders in a 0-0 draw in our last match.

Eddie Howe though is now the new manager and he looks set to discuss the situation with Jensen

Howe has confirmed this week that he will speak to Jensen to find what the current situation is.

‘We haven’t had a chance to chat with Brian yet,’ Howe said earlier this week.

‘It’s been a bit of a whirlwind week so far so I will sit down with Brian when I get a minute and talk it through with him and see where he’s at and see what he’s thinking.

‘It depends what Brian thinks. He has obviously put in a transfer request for a reason but until I speak to him I won’t know the full details.’

Most Clarets fans will be hoping they can resolve any problems and that ‘The Beast’ will remain on our books at least until the end of the season. If they can’t and he leaves in the January window, we will not have much time to find a replacement and could be faced with ’emergency loans’ should our only keeper, Lee Grant become injured or suspended.
