Our former loan midfielder from Chelsea last season, Jack Cork is waiting to hear about his future at Stamford Bridge with some talk that he could be seeking a permanent move away from the current Premier League Champions rather than consider another loan stint. It is understood that Cork feels his chances of breaking into the Chelsea first team is slim in light of the competition and feels a move away could be the best option to further his career.

It is no secret that Brian Laws would be keen to bring Cork back to Turf Moor after his successful stint last season although it had been thought that only a loan would be an option.

Jack Cork would also appear to be potentially interested in returning if a deal could be struck. At the end of last season he said:

“Maybe if Burnley come in for me in the summer I`ll have to really, really think about it.’

It had also been reported that Premier League new boys, Blackpool were also interested in the player although speculation regarding the link now seems to have cooled.

It looks like the 21 year old is having to play the waiting game at Chelsea. Cork had hoped to have discussed his future by now with Blues sporting director, Frank Arnesen both in terms of a possible permanent move or loan deal but it is understood he has heard nothing with his future career now dangling in limbo.

Chelsea may also decide to hold onto Cork for their pre-season games which could scupper Brian Laws plans to sign him and have his new squad fully in place by the time they start their Singapore Tour on Saturday 17th July.

If the Clarets are still interested in the player it looks like they too will have to play the waiting game while Chelsea make up their mind about the player.
