Didnt Ria make it to the shortlist for best writer last year?
That’s right: we were shortlised as Championship fanzine of the year but didn’t win – not sure what did, and Ria was indeed shortlisted too. I haven’t put her forward this year, just because she hasn’t written as much, and a few others have…
How about our very own Rickers Twickers too? Would be nice for someone who uses the site as well as writes for the mag to also be on list of nominations but not sure how Barnsey selects shortlist?
I am not sure thier is a shortlist – I think its just whoevers articles readers have liked!
Flattered by TMP’s comments but I’ve only been here for five minutes. Think some of those who have put in a bit more service -over several years in some cases – are more deserving.
As I understand it – Th efanzine awards are run every year. Years of service mean nothing! Its a bit like winning the player of the season award! 🙂
It is run every year. I tend to put forward the 3 or 4 people (or more) who have written a lot over that season – hence the names I mentioned, rather than everyone’s. As Dale points out, however, if all the people who vote for us choose someone else who writes, then that is their call!
Perhaps I should edit list in article by adding ‘example’ re authors? [Edited by turfmanphil]
