WTBM… made its debut in The Observer today in the Sport section’s ‘The verdict’. If you didn’t buy it, read on…

I decided that, after having thought about contacting the paper for over two years, time had come to actually do something about it. And so it was that I was contacted to do the fans’ bit about the derby game with PNE – nice to be able to comment on a positive result!

Here’s how they quoted me:

Was it a good match?
‘It was not a great performance* but an even game of decent pace. Some decent tackles went in. Our keeper should have done better with their opening goal. We finished the first half in the ascendancy and we were probably the better team overall. Besides that, we owed them one.’

Who played well/had a nightmare?
‘Chris McCann was our driving force in midfield/ Steven Caldwell and the much-maligned Stephen Jordan looked strong in defence.’

*I said in the first half, but you know what the press are like!*

So, that was the first of what we hope will be many match summaries from WTBM.. towers. What do you think? Let us know!
