James Tarkowski made another step this week in his return to full fitness following a month out with a groin problem.

Earlier this week Tarkowski appeared in a behind closed doors friendly run out with Preston North end and although we won the game four nil, the big story from the match was Tarks getting all 90 minutes as he stepped his fitness up further, and he wasn’t the only one to improve their own fitness levels as goalkeeper Tom Heaton also featured in the match.

Burnley following a Sam Vokes brace and a GK Nkoudou double of his own.

The good news for Burnley continued as not only did both players improve their confidence, Chris Wood also got his first 90 minutes under his belt following the knee injury he sustained back in December – he appeared on the bench for last Saturday’s action against Southampton.

Burnley also got 90 minutes into Dean Marney and Nahki Wells as they continued their own return to fitness.

All in all a rather pleasing day.
