Goalscorer and match winner Scotty Arfield has said his goal against Blackburn Rovers in the derby was by far his best moment in football so far.

Having scored a goal like that there was no way Arfield wasn’t going to be wheeled out in front of the media, so in his own after game press conference the Official Site have him quoted as saying.

‘That was definitely my top moment in football and 100% that`s the best goal I`ve ever scored. There is so much emphasis on this game, from the moment I came here. It`s the main one for the fans, so to get the only goal in a 1-0 win was fantastic on a personal level, although the three points is the most important thing.’

Not only was it a season opener for him in 2015-16, it’s also going to feature as a Goal of the Season contender surely, and with his sprinting celebration back to the fans, he added.

‘It`s just one of those things where you can`t contain yourself. I`ll take so much stick for that, but I don`t care. I just hope it goes on my stats! I genuinely didn`t know what I was doing though. I was in a bubble and was running hand-in-hand with Michael Duff for about three seconds. It`s bizarre!’

I think we’ll allow him the ‘bizarre’ moment and a bit of hand holding on this occasion!
