Burnley Chase Forest & Leeds Deals?

Having received a sizable amount of money from Everton after Michael Keane’s club record transfer, Burnley could spend some of this on Nottingham Forest forward Britt Assombalonga.

An offer of £8m has been made to the Championship club, according to Sky Sports.

Sean Dyche is definitely looking for another striker and as much as Assombalonga, 24, isn’t proven in the Premier League his goalscoring ability isn’t in doubt – there are concerns about his injury record though.

Nottingham Forest aren’t looking to sell but boss Mark Warburton did admit every player had a price. Could £8m for a player who joined Forest for £5.5m from Peterborough three years ago, sidelined by a serious injury and several shorter spells since, be enough to secure Assombalonga?

A potentially interesting deal but a more likely arrival at the moment could be that of Charlie Taylor? The out-of-contract Leeds full back is ‘close to signing for Burnley’, reports Sky Sports.

Taylor, 23, had a transfer request turned down last summer and has since rejected the offer of a new contract at Leeds and is set to leave Elland Road in search of Premier League football.

A medical has taken place with Sky Sports claiming a deal ‘should be completed this week.’ Burnley would have to agree a compensation package.
