Our former manager Steve Cotterill is favourite to become the new gaffer at Yeovil if you believe the rumour in the Daily Mirror.

However according to The Independent, Cotterill could face competition from Alan Pardew and Leroy Rosenior.

Russell Slade left Yeovil yesterday after two and a half years as manager.

League 1 side Yeovil are currently struggling in 16th position although their form of late has been good and they have won their last four games. There position in the league though must be a disappointment considering Slade took the Glovers to the League One play-offs final at the end of his first season in charge in 2007,

Although the team are currently playing well the former gaffer’s relationship with the Yeovil board had deteriorated and it was only a matter of time before he left. It is not clear whether Yeovil chairman John Fry sacked Slade or if he departed by mutual consent.

Steve Cotterill has been linked to a few clubs since leaving the Clarets by mutual consent in November 2007 but he has denied links on a few occasions and it remains to be seen if he speaks out dismissing this rumour again or whether in fact he is in line for the job.

Good luck whatever happens Steve!
