Fulham youth beat Manchester City youth 2-1 at Hyde on Wednesday night in the 5th round of the FA Youth Cup. They had to come from behind after Jordi Hiwula scored for City in the 20th minute. A brace from Cauley Woodrow in the 65th and 82nd minute was enough to secure victory for the London club.

The victory means that Burnley will now face Fulham at Craven Cottage in the FA Youth Cup quarter final tie.

Many Clarets fans and the Burnley youngsters themselves might have preferred to be playing at the Etihad instead but ces’t la vie, despite having to now travel to London instead of a local trip to Manchester, this is still a great opportunity for our youth team to be playing at a Premier League ground.

They now also have a greater incentive to reach the semi-finals with the winners being paired against either Newcastle or would you believe it, our local rivals Blackburn Rovers!

First things first though, we have the tricky matter of beating Fulham on their homesoil. Although there is still no confirmation, it is thought the game will be played on Wednesday 7th March.
