The Clarets forked out £214,900 to agents between 1st July and 31st December 2007 according to the Football League’s Agents’ Fees Report published yesterday. This money involved a total of 16 transactions.

In the Championship, Blackpool did not pay agents anything at all (one of 19 clubs in the FL) whilst our other rivals in the North West, Preston paid out slightly more than the Clarets ie £230,000.

Leicester were the biggest spenders in our League forking out a massive £1,067,084 on Agents fees

The total agents fees for all League clubs increased £1.7m from £6.2m for the second half of 2006 to £7.9 million

League clubs however also spent a total of £42.1m on player acquisitions compared to the £21.7m spent 12 months before. This is an amazing increase of 94% and shows just how much transfer activity has increased in a year.
