A new book was published recently by Clarets author, the Reverend David Wiseman. Clarets fans may know the life-long Clarets fan from his other books on Burnley FC which include ‘Up the Clarets’,’Vintage Claret’ and ‘A Case of Vintage Claret’

His latest work is a book entitled ‘The Burnley FC Miscellany’

The good news was that the publishers, Breedon Publishing provided Vital Burnley with three copies of the new book to give away free in our competitions this season.

Over two nights this week some of our posters have been battling it out to win the book in our first of the three competitions.

We asked a series of questions based on the book in 26 categories listed in alphabetical order A-Z.

Folk playing the quiz got 3 points for the quickest correct answer and one point if they got it right but slower.

We can announce that the winner of our first quiz and soon to be proud owner of ‘The Burnley FC Miscellany’ is:

Claret Dale

He achieved a fantastic 29 points with nine fastest correct questions.

Grimsby Claret came a creditable second with 23 points and three fastest correct questions.

Rickers Twickers in third with 19 points also with three fastest correct questions might have been pushing the leaders had he not been a little late and missed a handful of questions.

Couch Potato in 4th on 18 points with three fastest correct questions also missed out on a few questions.

Vin Rogue recovered well on the second night to get three fastest correct questions but could only finish on 16 points.

8clarets8 faded towards the end but managed to get two fastest correct questions at both the beginning and end of the second night to finish on 14 points.
