The Safe Sex campaign starts off with a BANG at Turf Moor with free claret-coloured condoms being handed out to fans as supporters leave the Lancashire derby with Preston North End at Turf Moor on Saturday September 27.

I suppose they didnt want to hand them out before the match because they might have been worried that the crowd might enjoy the end-to-end stuff literally!

Why are the Club doing this? Well the club have teamed-up with The Condom Collective in a bid to make the contraception more accessible and acceptable to young folk in the local areas of Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale

Burnley FC communications manager Darren Bentley had this to say about the Safe Sex initiative

‘We were absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to support it and have even designed a fun, Burnley FC-branded envelope for the condoms to show our wholehearted backing.

‘As a community club, we feel we should be doing everything we can to help promote good health and one way is a responsible attitude to sex.

‘Due to the reported rise in STIs, there needs to be a radical and creative approach to ‘normalising’ condom use and we hope that as well as seeing the fun side, supporters will recognise the serious message behind using Burnley FC-branded condoms.’

The Preston match will be the first of a number of selected games where the free condoms will be handed out.

We do often see coloured balloons in team colours at football matches these days and maybe we might see some different shaped ones at the Turf next Saturday

Not much else you can say really is there? Probably done enough horny, sorry corny jokes!
