Jack Cork is back at Turf Moor after completing a season-long loan deal from Chelsea this Friday.

It had been rumoured that Chelsea would allow Cork to leave on a permanent deal for £2 million and this could remain an option for the Clarets after the loan deal is complete. It is however also understood in the loan contract that Chelsea could recall Cork if they need him after six months.

The England Under 21 international certainly sounds happy about returning to Turf Moor The 21 year old said:

“I thought I might as well be grateful to the manager for giving me my chance in the Premier League and try to help everyone get back up there.

“I know it`s the Championship but it is a very good league. A lot of the players here could play in the Premier League and the quality that Burnley have got here is not far off a Premier League team because it`s basically the same squad we had last year.

“I know if we play as well as we did at times when I was here last season then we have will have no problems reaching our goal of getting back in there.”

He is in the squad that faces Ipswich today but is only on the bench.

Meanwhile 19 year old defender Chris Lynch looks set to join Hyde United on a month`s emergency loan. If the paperwork is completed in time, he could make his debut for the Tigers at Telford United today,

Lynch suffered from injury for most of last season with a knee problem picked up whilst on loan to Chester City.

He has now recovered after his surgery and will now have a chance to play in the Blue Square North League.

Lynch will now play alongside our youth team goalkeeping coach, Craig Mawson who has a dual role involving the two clubs.
