‘It must be fantastic to have the squad he has and I am sure they will be pleased with the win. We are a little disappointed we didn’t get a draw out of it in the end, but before that we felt we had enough chances to win the game.

‘We felt they probably had three chances – from Robbie Blake in the first half, the Lewis free kick and Hulse’s header – and taken two of them. But we did enough to get something out of the game, without a shadow of a doubt.’

‘If we got the second goal when we were one-up, when Neil Sullivan made a great save from Garreth, that would have sewn the game up.

‘Neil is a big lad and unfortunately Garreth found the middle of him after making a good contact. But we were trying to scratch out a draw by then and we just have to take defeat on the chin. We’ve had a couple of good results ourselves and now we have to crack on with Leicester tomorrow.’
