Dane Richards has joined Norwegian second division side FB Bodo/Glimt on loan until July 9th.

The 29-year-old winger only joined Burnley from Canadian side Vancouver Whitecaps in January and was signed under a pre-contract agreement by former gaffer, Eddie Howe. Howe had left the club by the time Richards physically arrived at the club early in the New Year. He has however struggled to make an impression so far in his first season with the Clarets making just two substitute appearances and he has not played for Burnley since the home defeat to Huddersfield in February.

Current Burnley boss Sean Dyche said:

“Dane was unbeknown to us when he came in.

“The club had already signed him when I was appointed and we feel we have given him a fair time to try and get used to it and give him a little taste for it.

“We just thought he was short to be honest for what we needed, so the idea of a loan is get Dane out playing again and get him some game time.”
