Manager Sean Dyche has said he was delighted with the second half fightback against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup third round tie this weekend as we came from a goal down to take a two one victory and book our place in the fourth round draw which takes place later tonight.

Speaking to the Official Site with goals coming from Rouwen Hennings and Stephen Ward, a delighted gaffer explained.

‘Arguably, statistically, this is one of the toughest places to come at the moment, probably across the four divisions. They have only conceded two goals here in the league all season, so to win, when most people would see that as a coupon buster, is very pleasing. I wasn`t pleased at half time and I had a quiet word, let`s say! They had one bit of good play for the goal and Tom Heaton has done magnificently to keep things right for us. In the second half we mixed it up better and had them on the back foot, so I was very pleased with that tactically. I am always pleased with the mentality and I am just really pleased with the response. You can speak to people in different ways, but there has to be a reaction and there certainly was.’

With changes made to the line up to freshen things up plus a forced change owing to Andre Gray’s broken finger, Dyche went on to say he was delighted (in the end) with the performances of those who came in.

‘The players who came in, who hadn`t played for a while and did very well. Freddie and Tendayi have come in and done well, so there are very good signs and a very strong performance, especially towards the end when I didn`t think we were in any trouble. It`s also lovely cool finish from Rouwen. He is learning about the culture of the football here and how we operator. He is an intelligent footballer and he is improving, so I am very pleased for him. Wardy has then popped up with a great winner and it`s a very nice strike and worthy of winning a game, I felt, because they didn`t have too many chances in that second half.’

Speaking more about Gray, Dyche confirmed he should come back into his thoughts following the training based injury for the match against MK Dons on Tuesday.

‘Andre unfortunately had a fall in training on Friday and broke his finger. The good news is that`s not going to stop him and the specialist is happy with it. He wasn`t going to start today, but he would have been involved, but with such a fresh injury it made sense to leave him as a precaution, but he`ll be right for Tuesday.’
