Eddie Howe has told BBC Radio Lancashire that left-back Brian Easton does not have a future at the club and that the defender will not be offered a new deal when his current deal expires.

‘Brian’s future lies elsewhere, said Howe

‘We’re moving in a direction so I don’t really see the point of playing someone who won’t be here next season.’

Easton, 24, joined the Clarets from Hamilton Academical in 2009 having been signed by Owen Coyle and has made 25 appearances this season.

He has struggled to make an impression though whilst at the club and in 2010 returned to Hamilton Academical for a loan spell.

It looked like he got a lucky break in the summer, when left back Danny Fox departed for Southampton but he could not keep his position.

Ben Mee, who is more a recognised central defender than left back kept Easton sidelined and the writing was on the wall when Daniel Lafferty arrived.Easton was not considered for the game against Birmingham at Turf Moor yesterday even though both Mee and Lafferty failed late fitness tests. Howe decided instead to play Ross Wallace out-of-position in the left back role and now we know why!

Good luck, Brian sorry it didn’t wotk out for you!
