Happy New Year to one and all and let’s hope 2011 is a great year for all Clarets fans. After a turbulent last few days we can now look forward to 2011 with renewed vigour!

2010 was not the happiest year for Clarets fans it has to be said. Relegation after just one season in the top flight followed by a mediocre performance in the Championship culminating in the sacking of a manager might not have been on our 2010 wish-list.

But stuff 2010, we have turned a corner and we can now move forward under new management with renewed hope. All is not lost yet, in 10th place just two points off a play-offs spot, if we can start to put a run together with a team motivated by a new gaffer at the helm.who knows what our fate will be.

Whoever the new manager might be, let’s get behind him from Day 1 and make this year a Claret one!

Finally, I would once more like to thank all our posters and users for continuing to use Vital Burnley and support our ‘Hit the Site, Help the Club’ campaign.

We announced recently we had now raised a total of £2000 which the site has donated to Clarets Trust to buy 10 shares in Burnley Football Club.

You may have seen some recent publicity about this achievement in the Leeds United ‘Claret & You’. It was featured on Page 9 under the title ‘Vital Funds Raised’

The article read:

Clarets Trust chairman, Peter Pike said:

Phil Lea,the Vital Burnley editor, is also a Clarets Trust Board member and started the ‘Hit the Site, Help the Club’ campaign two years ago in partnership with ‘When the Ball Moves’ fanzine editor and Trust Membership Secretary, Martin Barnes.
