The Clarets defeated Hull 2-1 in a reserve game last night at Stanley’s Crown Ground with Steven Thompson getting a brace. That was the good news the bad news was that two of our players were injured.

Hot prospect, left winger Fernando Guerrero pulled up with hamstring problems and limped off the pitch as the first half came to a close.

Striker,Jay Rodriguez then appeared to twist his ankle after about 15 minutes of play in the second-half.

These injuries will be of concern for Owen Coyle who is already without both Chris McCann(Medial ligament injury) and Martin Paterson (Torn cartilage) for the next 2-2 months.

Our reserve and youth team captain from last season, Chris Lynch is now also out for the rest of the season. He was loaned out to Chester City in his first professional season after signing a contract with the Clarets in the Summer. The grim news is that on Sunday whilst playing for Chester, he injured his cruciate ligament.
