Burnley have today confirmed that Danny Lafferty has now completed his permanent move to Sheffield United.
The player had been out on loan with them in the first half of the 2016/17 campaign and he’s made 21 appearances for them so far – losing only once – since arriving at Bramall Lane in August.
Sheffield United had expressed a desire to make the loan move permanent this window and the clubs have been in talks as Burnley confirmed previously.
A deal for the Northern Ireland international has now gone through for an undisclosed fee and Lafferty has signed a two and a half year deal with the League One leaders.
The 27 year old departs after four years at Turf Moor, with the full back having made 45 appearances in total for us – including ten games in the Championship in 2013/14 helping us to secure promotion to the Premier League the last time round.
