Most Clarets fans would prefer a tasty visit to the Emirates in the 5th round of the FA Cup to face Arsenal. The Gunners and Cardiff City have yet to replay their fourth round tie. The snow in the South East ensured the game was postponed this week. The replay will now take place at the Emirates Stadium on Monday, February 16, 2009.

There is now an added incentive for wanting to play the Arsenal rather than the Bluebirds. Should Arsenal be the victors, it would ensure a nice weekend trip to London for the 5th round, rather than a tricky night match in Cardiff.

Should Arsenal defeat Cardiff the 5th Round game at the Emirates would take place on the weekend of Saturday, March 7 or Sunday, March 8th, 2009.

On the other hand, Clarets will have to drag themselves to Ninian Park on the night of Wednesday, February 25, 2009 should the Bluebirds progress to the 5th round.

In many ways, I reckon a match against fellow Championship rivals, Cardiff would be more difficult to win than being underdogs against the high & mighty Arsenal. Let’s face it though we fear nobody these days and having beat the Young Gunners in the Carling Cup maybe its time to beat the Owd Wizened Up Howitzers of their first team in the FA Cup!

Capital Punishment-The Sequel? I hope so!!
