Rumours that Burnley are interested in bringing Manchester City winger, Vladimir Weiss to Turf Moor were fuelled again this week with Alan Nixon in the Mirror yesterday reporting that Eddie Howe was considering a season-long loan for the Slovakia international. Clarets fans may be wondering at this rate if we are becoming Citeh`s feeder club following the season-long loan signings of two of their defenders already this summer, Ben Mee and KeiranTrippier.

Weiss would be seen as the natural replacement, at least as a short-term measure for Chris Eagles who last night played in a friendly for Bolton along with Tyrone Mears despite no official announcement yet that the two have signed yet for Coyle`s mob. By all accounts Burnley FC had given them permission. Nixon also states that Manchester City could also be prepared to sell Weiss but I suspect this would not be an option for Burnley and if a loan deal goes ahead no doubt Clarets fans will be wondering if this could be another Cork-like saga all over again!

The Sun also runs with this story but states in addition we could have some opposition for his signature.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at SPL champions Rangers and it is thought that the Gers are keen to bring him back to Ibrox. The Sun also report that he has been linked with a loan move to Spanish club Espanyol.

In January 2010 Weiss ironically joined Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season before also going out on loan last season to Rangers having signed the loan deal in August 2010 and agreeing to stay at the SPL club until the end of the 2010-11 season. However he suffered a broken foot and had to return to his parent club.

This would be seen as an exciting signing by Clarets fans whether he came as a loan signing or on a permanent deal so let`s hope Nixon has once again got his facts right.
