Skysports.com are reporting that they understand a number of Championship clubs including the Clarets are tracking 19 year old attacking midfielder Dundalk star Daniel Kearns.
Blackpool, Derby and Peterborough have also been linked.
Dundalk are thought unlikely to stand in Kearns’ way and it is reported that he would be keen to return to England.
He came through West Ham’s youth team after joining them in July 2007. Kearns signed for Dundalk in May 2010 after being released by the Hammers.
Kearns has represented Northern Ireland in the European U17 Championship qualifiers in March 2008 but the Belfast-born player then switched allegiances to the Republic of Ireland representing them at U19, U21 and U23 levels.
