Lee Grant is one of a number of players out of contract in the summer and so far negotiations appear to have failed to lead to a new deal. Grant was not a fans favourite until recently but after a very good season, he this week scooped most of the Supporters’ Clubs Player of the Year awards.

The problem for the Clarets could be now to hold onto our first choice keeper and it is no secret that once again money is tight with a number of players expected to take pay cuts. The club`s desire to cut the wage bill has led to prolonged negotiations with players whose contracts were due to expire this summer and it looks like Grant is not playing ball!

The local media today suggests that Derby County are keen to bring Grant, now 30 back to Pride Park and may already have set the wheels in motion for his return. In other words there will be more money on the table with the Clarets as usual losing out.

What would you think if Grant did leave the club? Tell us below this article and vote in the poll.
