It looks like Burnley will face a tough challenge this January to keep hold of striker, Danny Ings. The leading Clarets goal-scorer this season, Ings has already notched up eleven goals, seven of them in the Championship and he was also recenly honoured by earning his first cap for the England Under 21 team.

That does not go unnoticed in the top flight. It is thought he has caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs and today’s tabloids are full of rumours that Fulham could be the latest to throw their hat in the ring.

Martin Jol’s side are currently struggling fourth from bottom and will hoping they can avoid relegation by boosting their squad in the January window. It is thought they could be prepared to bid around £5 million for the former Bournemouth striker who cost just a million when he arrived from Dean Court in August 2011. He signed a four year contract so still has a couple of years to run which would increase his value.

The club should Burnley still be top by Christmas (or at least in the promotion chasing pack) must surely do all they can to try and keep all our key players and Danny Ings is certainly one of them! This would not be the time to wreck our chances of promotion for the sake of making a quick buck especially if any money received was not immediatly reinvested in strikers of comparable quality. Clarets fans are just getting used to the idea we didn’t afterall need Charlie Austin but what would the thoughts be if Ings left as well? Why not comment below this article?
