According to Skysports.com, Burnley are understood to have invited non-league 20-year-old winger Marvin Johnson to Turf Moor on trial.
Johnson currently plays for Northern Premier League First Division South side Romulus FC.
He is catching the eye of a number of clubs in the Football League including Nottingham Forest, Watford, Cardiff, Bristol City, Peterborough, Colchester, Bury and Bradford but it is thought that the Clarets could steal a march on their rivals by taking Johnson on a trial period at Turf Moor.
Although a winger, he is also currently the top scorer in the Northern Premier League with 16 goals so far this season.
