Burnley are the latest Premier League club to be linked with a move for 20-year-old Rangers midfielder Lewis MacLeod. So far though, if the rumour is true, Burnley could face competition from both Aston Villa and Newcastle. It would appear that Burnley have already contacted Ibrox Park logging their interest. Rangers finances are still understood to be precarious and speculation is rife that the Scottish Championship club could cash in during the January transfer window. Scotland boss Gordon Strachan handed the Rangers starlet his first senior international call-up this month and he now looks to be pretty hot property attracting a number of top flight scouts keen to check him out.

MacLeod progressed though the Rangers youth system after joining the Glasgow club at the tender age of 10 in 2004! He made his first start for Rangers in the Challenge Cup against Brechin City in July 2012 and has since made over 50 appearances for the club scoring eleven goals. The centre midfielder signed a five-year contract with Rangers in September 2012.
