Brighton & Hove Albion are keeping an eye on Wolves` Welsh international centre forward Sam Vokes according to ‘The Argus’, the local Sussex rag.

Sam Vokes’ loan spell at Burnley comes to an end on Sunday 15th January. Unless the Clarets can extend the loan or even sign the player on a permanent basis, other clubs could be prepared to take him away from Molineux either on loan or on a permanent basis once he returns to his parent club.

The 22-year-old was a second half sub in Burnley`s 1-0 win against nine-man Brighton at The Amex last month.

Vokes may well have already played his last game for Burnley. He has not been given permission by Mick McCarthy to play in the FA Cup at Norwich today and our next match after that is in the Championship against Middlesbrough at the Riverside, one day before his loan contract completes.

It is thought Seagulls boss Gus Poyet wants to sign a target man in the January window to support Craig Mackail-Smith up front.
