The local Swansea Evening Post suggests Brendan Rodgers could be considering a move for Chris Eagles who is out of contract next summer. Swansea are in the market for a winger and have been linked this summer with high-profile moves for both Wayne Routledge and Marvin Emnes.

The paper goes on to say that they think Eagles is free to leave Turf Moor for the right price and could be looking to recoup at least the £1 million they paid Manchester United three years ago.

Eagles continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League and has been linked with a move in the past to Spurs and Everton. More recently another newly promoted top-flight club, QPR were thought to be interested in the player.

Only today though Eddie Howe is on record as saying:

‘There`s always people circling, but there is no new news regarding any of our players.

‘I`ve said all along I want to keep the squad together, keep our best players, and hopefully we can do that and bring in some new ones the other way.’
