The Clarets have been linked with a loan move for 21 year old Manchester City striker, John Guidetti in the January window.

Clarets fans may well remember his brief loan spell previously at Turf Moor. Guidetti signed an initial one month loan deal with Burnley in November 2010 with a possible option to extend the loan when it expired on January 1st 2011. He made his first start for Burnley in the Boxing Day clash away to Barnsley scoring on his debut to help the Clarets achieve a 2-1 victory. Manchester City though would not extend his loan spell and he was called back to his parent club on the last day of 2010 having made just five appearances for the Clarets. In October 2012, Guidetti signed a new 3-year deal with Manchester City, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2015. The Swedish international then agreed a loan deal with Dutch club Feyenoord for the 2011-12 season and finished up achieving a remarkable 23 goals and eight assists in his 20 games for the club. Since then though he has suffered from injury and has had a prolonged spell out with an infected nerve, causing him to lose the feeling in his right leg. He returned to full training a year ago, and has scored in competitive action, but it is felt a loan switch would be in his best interests to help his rehabilitation.
