A host of Championship clubs including the Clarets are thought to be tracking Wigan striker Nouha Dicko. Sky Sports understand that in addition to Burnley, Millwall and Bournemouth could also be interested in the 21 year old Frenchman.

Dicko is now in the final year of his contract at the DW Stadium and he is thought to be frustrated by the lack of opportunity in Wigan’s first team. This season his only appearance was when he came on as a late substitute in the Community Shield defeat to Manchester United. Dicko has also enjoyed loan spells at Blackpool and Wolves during the last 18 months. In his two loan spells at Bloomfield Road he scored nine goals although once again mainly featured as a substitute.

The striker is also quite versatile and can play on the wing which could be an advantage especially following news today that Ross Wallace could be sidelined for a few months with a knee injury requiring surgery.

Dicko started his professional career with Strasbourg moving there at the age of 13 from Créteil-Lusitanos in the spring of 2007. In 2011, Strasbourg were in financial difficulties and therefore released Dicko.

Following a trial with Wigan Athletic then in the Premier League he signed for the club a few weeks later ahead of the 2011-12 season.
