Burnley will travel to Southampton in the first week of January for the Third Round of the FA Cup. The last time these two clubs faced each other was over a century ago in 1908 when the Saints won 2-1 at Turf Moor.
This will not be the draw that the Clarets would have wanted considering the Premier League club are currently 8th in the table and have been as high as 3rd this season. The tie though does set up the intriguing prospect of seeing Jay Rodriguez play against his former club. The now England international moved down to Hampshire in the summer.
