Burnley have been dealt a blow with the loan deal of Nathan Dyer coming to a premature end.

Dyer, who has been in impressive form for the Clarets, was initially due to return to St. Mary’s after Burnley’s game at Norwich on December 28, has been recalled two games early.

The winger made five starts at Turf Moor, scoring two goals, and put in a great performance in the recent victory over Watford.

Speaking on the development, Burnley Manager Steve Cotterill said: ‘We’re disappointed that Nathan has had to go back, but I suppose we can look at it in the way that thankfully, we have been part of his education.’

‘We would like to thank Nathan for his time here at the club and we wish him all the best for the future.’
