Burnley have confirmed that six promising youngsters have headed out for loan spells to continue their own development.

Defenders Daniel Lafferty and Cameron Dummigan have both rejoined League One side Oldham Athletic for a loan spell, and Lafferty was with them for a five game stint back in October, whilst Dummigan has extended his own nine game spell with them also.

Both deals are for a month.

Fellow Development Squad dup Luke Hendrie and Conor Mitchell have also headed out to York City and Bradford Park Avenue respectively.

Hendrie makes the move to them having had a three game spell with Hartlepool United back in October. The deal is again for a month.

Mitchell heads out for a month also, looking to build on his time with Sheffield FC back in August.

In other news, defender Luke Conlon returns to Turf Moor following the expiry of his six month loan spell with Scottish Championship side St Mirren. The Northern Ireland Under 21 international took in four appearances for them during his stay up north.

More recently Jason Gilchrist has secured a spell out with National League side Chester, and Josh Ginnelly joins him at that level for time with Altrincham.

Striker Gilchrist goes for a month as he looks for game time to build himself back up following a broken ankle in July, and wide midfielder Ginnelly also heads out for a month.

Manager Sean Dyche was interviewed after the club confirmed the first four of the loan deals, and he naturally knew spells like that are hugely beneficial for players.

Speaking to the Official Site he explained.

‘We have call-backs on most of the lads after the first 28 days, but it`s apparent for Cameron because, along with Danny Lafferty, he was having a good run at Oldham. Danny was as well, before he had his unfortunate collar bone injury. But Cameron also had nigh on a year of injury and we wanted to get him first team football, which was a knock to him and us because we wanted to get him involved. It`s important that he, and Danny get that to keep them sharp. Luke and Conor have gone out also to get some action and we will monitor them, of course.’
