Our former striker, Steven Fletcher has been speaking to the Daily Mirror about our relegation last season.

Fletcher was sold to Premier League side Wolves for an undisclosed fee in the summer after agreeing a four year deal. It is thought the club record transfer fee was in the order of £7 million.

Injury in the early part of the season has limited his appearances for Wolves to just five matches although he has notched up two goals from those games.

Wolves are once again struggling this season in the top flight and are currently second from bottom in the Premier League with just six points from nine games.

Fletcher is clearly anxious to avoid another relegation in successive seasons and is hoping his experience of the drop with Burnley can help Wolves survive.

He has put the Clarets relegation down to complacency after we beat Manchester United 1-0 in our first home game of our first ever Premier League campaign last season.

The Scotland international told the Mirror:

‘We played United and won, then thought we were going to win the League,

‘Last year’s experience, good and bad, made me a better player. I hope Wolves can benefit from that’
