Burnley could soon have two new transfer targets on their books. Speaking about the possibility, Howe said:

“We are working on a couple of deals and we`re hopeful of getting them done”

He would however not be drawn on the name of the players that he has targeted:

“I wouldn`t comment on individual players,” he said but it is thought that the two players involved could be West Ham winger, Junior Stanislas and Stoke defender, Ryan Shotton. Vital Burnley have already reported on this speculation and we eagerly await news of any confirmation.

‘Whether or not they`re done (the deals) before Saturday remains to be seen,” added the Burnley gaffer.

Meanwhile one of our young prospects has departed Turf Moor on a loan deal. SPL club, St Mirren have signed midfielder, Joe McKee on loan until January, subject to receiving international clearance. If the clearance is given, McKee will link up with former Clarets striker, Steven Thompson who was released by the club in the summer before joining the Saints. It could be a baptism of fire for the lad with St Mirren due to play Celtic on Sunday.

McKee joined the Clarets from Livingston and has been with the club for two years but has yet to make his first-team debut although he was on the bench for the Carling Cup tie against Burton Albion earlier this month. McKee is highly rated and has already achieved Scotland Under 19 international honours.
