It has been officially announced today that Robbie Blake, Brian Jensen, Steven Thompson and Michael Duff have been offered new deals and will stay at Turf Moor if they accept the offers.

Clarke Carlisle and player-coach Graham Alexander have also now both signed new two-year deals.

Four players however will be leaving Turf Moor including current captain, Steven Caldwell. The news regarding Caldwell comes as no surprise really following his own statements on the Official Site a week or so ago that a deal did not seem to be forthcoming.

Stephen Jordan is another casualty as is Nicky Weaver. The keeper has the distinction of not having played one game for the Clarets since arriving in the January window.

These first team squad players join Joey Gudjonsson, Christian Kalvenes and Fernando Guerrero who have already left the club.

The loan deals for David Nugent, Jack Cork and Frederic Nimani have also come to an end and the players have returned to their respective clubs.

Remco van der Schaaf remains on loan at Brondby next season.

Our young midfielder, Adam Kay is another of our squad looking for a new club after today’s news.

A couple of youth players will also be leaving. Ben Hoskin, a first year professional is being released along with keeper, Jonathan Lund.
