The Stanislas & Pato Injury Blows!

The gloss has been taken off our 2-0 victory at the Riverside today following news that both Paterson and Stanislas could face a six week lay-off due to hamstring injuries.

Both players were substituted in the game today against Middlesbrough. Stanislas pulled up and startled to hobble before being replaced by Bartley in the 55th minute.

Five minutes before the end, Paterson too started to limp and was replaced by Austin in the 85th minute.

At least in the case of Paterson it was not a recurrence of the thigh injury that had previously blighted his opportunities at Burnley.

It is however still a blow and now leaves our squad depleted.

So much so that Eddie Howe is now considering even more to try and do a deal with Wolves gaffer, Mick McCarthy to extend Sam Vokes loan. Vokes returns to Molineux on Monday and it had been thought that due to limited appearances for Burnley that he could be sent out on loan elsewhere where he would be guaranteed more starts. He scored twice in five appearances for the Clarets at the start of his three month loan spell but then found opportunities few and far between often having to be content with a place on the bench.Vokes in effect became the fourth choice striker behind Rodriguez, Austin and Paterson.
