More News on Far East Tour
Clarets’ chief executive Paul Fletcher is currenly finalising the details of the eight-day Far East trip and is out in Singapore with Nelson-born Burnley fan John Banaszkiewicz, Managing Director of the tour sponsors, FIS.
Brian Laws’ squad are now expecting to play play three games, culminating in an exhibition match against an Asian Games XI, playing for the FIS Asian Cup, named after tour sponsor Freight Investor Solutions.
Fletcher, talking about the trip and his fact finding mission in Singapore said:
‘I’ve spent an enjoyable and hectic few days in the company of John B. John is not only the major sponsor for the big match on our tour of Singapore, but as Managing Director and owner of FIS and a range of other companies around the world, he has helped to introduce Burnley Football Club to Asia for the first time.
‘He has worked tirelessly over the last few days to make sure the tour is a big success.
‘Only Liverpool have visited Singapore to date, and I am sure Burnley will be fine ambassadors to follow.’
Firm details of the three games have yet to be finalised by the English and Singapore FA. But it is expected that the opening two matches will be played against Singapore S League’ teams, followed by the FIS Asian Cup clash at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Thy Season Tickets Are Ready Lads!
The Offial Site have confirmed that the Season Ticket Books for 2010-11 have arrived and will be ready for collection from the club ticket office week commencing Monday 14th June. Those fans who have stated that they want their books to be posted out will have their requests processed alphabetically.
Cotterill Jacks In County
You may have missed the news recently that former gaffer, Steve Cotterill has left Notts County after refusing to sign a new deal.
He had been linked with Championship side, Coventry but turned down their approach before resigning at Meadow Lane amidst rumours that Portsmouth could be ready to offer him a deal to replace Avram Grant.
Portsmouth administrator,Andrew Andronikou though told the Guardian at the end of last month after hearing about Cotterill leaving County:
‘We are working through the process to find a new manager. The most I can say is that we hope to reach a decision at the end of next week. Whatever Steve’s done today ? you can put two and two together but you won’t get the right sum. I believe he might be talking to a few different clubs.’
