Claret Dale provides a summary of the latest Vital Burnley Prediction League competition up to and including the West Ham home game on the 24th March.

Burnley could only manage a draw against the Hammers despite being 2-0 up at one stage and it all left Clarets fans wondering when we would win our next game after failing to pick up three points in any of our last seven matches.

We would soon have our answer though after thumping Portsmouth 5-1 only last Saturday (31st March)giving Clarets fans something to cheer about at long last!

We now have seven games of the season remaining in which to decide the prize winners in our Prediction League. The prizes don’t forget will be £50 for first place, £25 for second place and £10 for third place and as Dale states below it is still anybody’s game!

Here is Dale to tell you more!

Vital Burnley Prediction League Update-March 2012

It has been a disappointing last six weeks for the Clarets which has been matched by a number of this seasons` prediction league leaders. As can be seen by the update below, it is now anybody`s game.

The previous leader, Dad, has been hit hardest by the dip in form. He has failed to pick up any points since our 2-0 victory over Barnsley. His 4 point lead at the top has now been eaten away and he finds himself off top spot for the first time since before Xmas. ‘Claretfromaway` and ‘Totally` have fared little better which could leave an exciting last 8 games with many people now in with a shout of the prizes.

The big scorers/movers since the last update 4 people managed to achieve a point`s ratio of a point per game or better. These were CP & Dale (10 points), Grimsby (9) and Barnsey (8). Couch Potato actually managed to get 2 points on five occasions in the last eight games. Well done CP.

So will a poor end to the season allow the more pessimistic/realistic amongst us to romp to the title or will a return of some good form allow the previous top three to claim the prizes???

Good Luck to all!

Dale
