Vital Burnley are delighted to have sponsored the Burnley Former Players Association (BFPA) Vintage Clarets in the 35th Annual Football International Veterans Tournament to be held in Germany later this month.The great news too is that our site banner will now be displayed at the event on advertising boards etc

BFPA PRESS RELEASE
Burnley Former Players Association and Vintage Clarets-Sponsored by Premier Range, Vital Burnley and Ventura Office Supplies
The Vintage Clarets will be representing Burnley Football Club in the 35th Annual Football International Veterans Tournament to be held at Hamm, Germany over the weekend of 26 – 28 May 12. Other teams represented are the German side Hertha Berlin, Bradford City and Dutch side VV Ostrabeke.
The Burnley Team will include Burnley legends John Francis and Roger Eli, as well as Peter Mumby, Liam Robinson, Junior Bent, Chris Brass, Robbie Painter and John Mullin.
They will play a minimum of 4 games in a league format before the top two teams move forward in to a mini cup competition, which all concludes on Sun 28 May 12.
Burnley Former Players Associations has helped to pay for the flights of all Former Players playing in the event.
BFPA committee member and British Serviceman, Sgt Peter Briggs who is currently serving with the Royal Military Police in Sennelager, Germany, has helped to organise the Vintage Clarets participation in the event.
He said, “When I heard that Roger and John wanted to bring the lads over to Germany to play in the tournament I was thrilled, even more so when I found out that they would be playing just down the road. I told Roger that I am bringing my boots along just in case he needs a second striker!”
A percentage of money raised during the sale of shirts worn by the Vintage Clarets after the tournament will be given to the Help for Heroes Charity.
All the football games will be played at Hammer Spielvereinigung, 59071 Hamm, Germany
