As we know Sean Dyche was less than impressed by the defeat against Preston on Saturday, he was ‘disappointed’, to say the least, by the numerous chances Burnley failed to take!

Sam Vokes, who despite making his return from an injury enforced absence so would have the excuse in a way of being a little rusty, was among those guilty of not taking a chance or too. But a ‘disappointed’ and ‘frustrated’ Vokes has backed Burnley to bounce back as a run of three-matches in seven-days gets underway against QPR on Saturday.

He, as well as admitting a little concern by an tackle on half way that he was able to ‘jog off’, told the Official Website.

‘It was very disappointing and frustrating as well. I feel like we had a lot of good chances in the game and some good possession. I was a bit worried after the first goal. It was a tackle on the halfway line and he’s gone through the back of my knee and luckily I managed to get up and jog it off.’

With the chances Burnley a point, at least, could if not should have been gained against Lancashire rivals Preston and not the two-nil defeat….

If, and life is full of these moments, the Clarets had gone in front, when on top, Vokes added he feels sure the win would have been secured but it wasn’t so a reaction is needed, which he feels sure will come.

‘If we’d have got the goal in the first 20 minutes when we were on top it’d have been a completely different game but we didn’t and unfortunately conceded two bad goals on our behalf.

‘We know what we’re about at this level and we’ll bounce back.’

There little time for anyone to feel sorry for themselves with, as said, three-matches coming up as well as the festive period, with this run of games probably the best thing for Burnley as you just ‘get on with it’ don’t you.

Vokes finished by saying.

‘There is a three game week next week and there are some tough games in there but we’re looking forward to it. It’s QPR next and you often get that reaction from new manager’s but it’s one where we’ve got to have a good week’s training, pick ourselves up and go down there full of confidence.’

The talk is good we’ll now be looking for actions to follow!
