Michael Keane is set to complete his transfer to Everton this week, perhaps as soon as today, but his Burnley teammate Andre Gray might not join him on Merseyside?

Gray, out-of-contract next summer and so far not looking as if he’ll extend his Turf Moor deal, having been mentioned as another potential Everton target, could join West Ham for £15m, according to the Mirror over the weekend.

Perhaps a little premature, the Mirror reported Burnley had already sold Keane to Everton, it was also claimed the Clarets are now resigned to losing Gray, 26, but will look to get the best possible deal for the former Luton and Brentford forward.

Having previously turned down a similar offer from West Ham during the January transfer window the report said the Hammers are ‘confident’ of securing Gray during the summer – if his heart is set on leaving Burnley then £15m isn’t an amount we can turn down, is it?

Burnley were recently linked with veteran Stoke forward Jonathan Walters, who would make a good squad addition but isn’t going to be a suitable, and long-term, replacement for Gray, scorer of 33 goals in 78 appearances since his arrival from Brentford in 2015.
