Having seen one company suspend betting on him joining Everton last week, Burnley’s Michael Keane is closing in on a £25m transfer to Goodison Park.

Keane, now into the final year of his current Burnley deal, which isn’t going to be extended, is set to undergo a medical at Everton today with our Premier League rivals looking to wrap up a deal as soon as possible.

According to the BBC, Keane could become an Everton player by the end of the day.

The England defender, 24, was in advanced talks with Everton a few days ago with both clubs looking to finalise a deal for the former Manchester United defender, reported Sky Sports.

It’ll be a huge blow to lose Keane but his exit has been expected for a while and for Burnley to receive £25m – albeit with 25% being handed to former club United – for a player who could leave for nothing in 12 months isn’t a bad deal at all.

Sean Dyche, as he’s previously managed to do so, will bring in a player that can prove a worthy replacement and be developed into an even better footballer.
