Burnley Duo Rewarded For Clubs’ Success In 2017/18 – Fans Delighted

|

Ahead of the weekend’s clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Burnley manager Sean Dyche and centre-half James Tarkowski were both confirmed as being on the Premier League’s respective Manager of and Player of the Season shortlists.

The Premier League made their announcement on Saturday but despite the disappointing heavy loss to Arsene Wenger’s side in his final home game after 22-years in charge, Burnley have secured a European adventure – nobody is going to let the result get in the way of a well-earned celebration.

Dyche is on a list of six that includes Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Liverpool Jurgen Klopp, Newcastle United’s Rafa Benitez, Crystal Palace’s Roy Hodgson and Brighton’s Chris Hughton.

The fan vote represents 10% of the total and then a panel of experts including Sir Alex Ferguson, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry and Rio Ferdinand will decide the rest of it.

The winner will be announced on the evening of Tuesday, May 15 at the League Managers’ Association Awards evening and having got Burnley back into Europe with our highest league finish since 1975 he should be in with a good shout of the gong.

Tarkowski is also on a shortlist of six following the fine campaign he’s had, playing his part in keeping eleven clean sheets. He’s listed alongside Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Manchester United’s David de Gea.

The vote is identical to above, and you can cast your vote for Tarky Here.

Well deserved by both although not sure you can call 10% a vote?
