Former Clarets gaffer, Steve Cotterill gets a taste of Premier League life at long last after accepting a short-term contract to work alongside Harry Redknapp, assistant manager Kevin Bond and first-team coach Joe Jordan at struggling QPR. The West London club are currently firmly rooted at the bottom of the Premier League table.

A QPR spokesman said it was ‘an open-ended arrangement’ with no fixed timescale.

Cotterill now 48 has managed six clubs including of course Burnley and one of Redknapp’s former clubs, Portsmouth!

He was sacked by Forest in July 2012 after nine months in charge and has been looking for opportunities ever since.

‘Steve Cotterill has just come in on a short-term deal to help us out. He’s bright and has got something to offer,’ said Redknapp who is known to be a friend of Cotts.

‘He’ll spend his time with the rest of the backroom staff. We need as many people helping us out as possible.’
