Could Luke O’Neill be about to return to Mansfield? The Stags gaffer, Paul Cox has confirmed he would like to see the return of the right back to the One Call Stadium on loan although he has also stated that nothing had significantly progressed regarding a potential move so far.
“I have go to be respectful of Burnley and see what his situation is there,” said Cox.
“Luke was here at the Liverpool game and all the lads keep in touch with him.
“He wants to play football and wants to go out on loan. But I have not been in touch with Burnley yet. I am just keeping an eye on it.”
O’Neill joined the Clarets in June 2012 for an undisclosed fee but has found opportunities limited with Kieran Trippier obviously first choice right-back at the moment. His only start was in the Capital One Second Round cup game against Plymouth back in August and other than that he has had to be content with a number of unused substitute appearances on the bench.
