Although there has been no official announcement on the Official Burnley website it would appear we have signed a new young gun from Livingston; sixteen year old striker, Joe McKee.

So how did we find out? Well it appears to be a case of ‘Livingston I Presume’ after the Scottish club’s official website announced the news on Friday.

Owen Coyle it would appear was impressed with the young Scottish talent after the lad spent a few days with the Clarets at the end of last season.

Although no details have been provided it would appear he completed a permanent move to Burnley on Friday.

As part of the deal it would appear that the Clarets have agreed to play a friendly against the Scottish Football League Third Division side at Almondvale.

McKee speaking to the West Lothian Courier earlier in the year said:

“I signed full-time for the club in October (2008) when I turned 16 but I has been at the club for three years before the signing. In fact, I was at Dundee United from the age of seven for about five years and I was progressing quite well at Tannadice. However, I decided to move because I wasn`t as happy as I should have been.”

Despite his young age, McKee has already made his debut for Livingston in the first team and they had high hopes for the lad who appears to have great potential.

We await news from the Official Burnley Website to confirm the details of the signing when we will also hopefully hear Owen Coyle’s intentions for the player. Will the player at such a young age be given a professional contract and a squad number or will he be brought on through the club’s youth scheme and reserves? No doubt we will find out soon.
