Double Departure (Nearly) Done

Technically George Boyd has already left Burnley. In any case he should complete the formalities of his transfer to Sheffield Wednesday by the close of play on Monday as our former midfielder is undergoing a medical at Hillsborough, reports Sky Sports.

Boyd had been offered a new one year deal but his decision to turn this down saw him leave at the end of June. He had been linked with various Championship clubs, including a reunion with his former Hull boss Steve Bruce at Aston Villa.

Sheffield Wednesday are the side who will snap up the experienced Boyd, 31.

However, Burnley will receive a club record fee for former Manchester United defender Michael Keane when he completes his transfer to Everton.

Keane too is going through his paces of a medical, if this hasn’t already been concluded? The England international will then complete a £25m transfer to Goodison Park.

At the moment we are being devastated. The money we are receiving is peanuts. If payers want to leave there is little we can do but trust in the acumen of SD in getting the right replacements but admit I am worried. Up the Clarets.

No worries CC…everyone is replaceable.Good luck to Boyd & Keane..they served us well. The 19mil from Keane (Net.) should be well spent by SD & I am sure he has a replacement in mind for a good while now to go with Mee,Tarks & Long.Boyds best years i felt were in the championship rather than the Premier but he gave us 100% If Gray moves on for 15 mil then we should have another 13 mil in the kitty after paying off previous club.Thats 32 mil.We should have 50 mil.at least to spend on players.(We will need at least 4 to 5.)
SD made a player out of Keane & Boyd…I trust him to do the same again.UTC.
