Duo Return For Brighton

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has confirmed that both Ben Mee and Matt Lowton will travel to Brighton as they have now recovered from their respective injuries.

Acting skipper Mee has missed our last two games with a gash to the knee but that has now sufficiently healed for him to come back into contention this weekend. Lowton saw his ever present run brought to an end when he picked up a medial knee ligament strain in the game against Arsenal at the end of last month.

Phil Bardsley filled the right back slot, helping us to two wins out of the last three as we climbed into the top six and Kevin Long played his part in two clean sheets and back to back win’s in Mee’s place, so Dyche has some interesting selection dilemma’s to make.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media, Dyche explained.

‘Matt Lowton will be available, as will Ben Mee. It was my call with Ben on Tuesday. It was a close one, another few days would make sure.’

In midweek Charlie Taylor became our 20th player to be used in the top flight this season, and he may take to the pitch again as Stephen Ward remains a doubt following the knock he took to his knee against Stoke City.

Dyche reflected on Stoke by saying.

‘When you need it on nights like other night, when we had changes before and during the game, it`s nice to see the team can still perform. We have a clear respect for our players here. I`m not mentioning that others don’t, but we focus on players not involved too, and when they’re needed they’ll be ready.’

Adding.

‘It`s great credit to them. We lead it, but part of that is a culture they`ve set. When they do come in they know they’re respected by the group, the staff and the manager. They go in with an assuredness of the group around them.’
